School Postgraduate Programme Shortlisted for COSLA Excellence Award
The School of Management Postgraduate Certificate in Collaborative Leadership programme, operated in conjunction with the Fife Partnership (an association of public and voluntary sector organisations in Fife), has been shortlisted for the prestigious Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) Excellence Awards for 2013.
The COSLA Excellence Awards acknowledge the work undertaken by local government organisations involved in projects that aim to make a real and meaningful difference to people's quality of life and the communities in which they live.
The School's programme is one of three nominations shortlisted under the "Securing a Workforce for the Future" category. Participants on the Postgraduate Certificate programme are senior managers drawn from Fife Council, NHS Fife and the Voluntary Sector and who are engaged in working together across organisational boundaries to deliver more effective services for local communities. The programme works with participants to improve understanding and practice in the collaborative and partnership working necessary to achieve these improved service objectives.
Commenting on the nomination, Professor Huw Davies, co-Head of School, and one of the tutors on the programme, said:
"We are delighted to work in partnership with local public services in the delivery of this innovative programme. Our experience has been that of facilitating learning across very able cohorts of learners that has enabled creative workplace projects to be designed. We are pleased that the School has been able to contribute to local service development and proud to have been recognised alongside our partners in this COSLA Excellence Award competition."
The overall winners in the various categories of the COSLA Excellence Awards will be announced on 7 March 2013.
