Research Interests

Henning's research interests lie within the area of organisation studies and centre around knowledge and knowing in creative work environments. His current research is focused on the theory and practice of inquiry as conjoint, inherently social activity through which knowing is being achieved. More specifically, it is concerned with the construction of knowledge through processes of collaborative inquiry and its translation into material forms. The work engages with the writings of the early American pragmatists, in particular John Dewey, and uses empirical data from an in-depth case study of an architectural design process as exemplary operation of inquiry.
