Fleeman Johnson Collection
The library of Dr JD Fleeman (1932-1994), noted Samuel Johnson expert and bibliographer, presented to the Library in 1998 by his widow. It consists of over 1000 volumes by and about Samuel Johnson and Boswell, and is particularly rich in early editions of Johnson`s works. There are 134 pre-1801 items, including two pre-1701, and around 200 19th century items.
Finding aids
Cataloguing was completed in 2006 and around 1100 records have now been added to SAULCAT. The collection has the prefix Fle.
Dr Fleeman's manuscript papers are also held and have been added to a database available in the Reading Room.
