Cataloguing of the Fleeman Johnson Collection

Cataloguing of the library of Dr JD Fleeman (1932-1994), noted Samuel Johnson expert and bibliographer, was completed in 2006. Consisting principally of editions of Johnson's works (including first editions) and items of Johnsonian and Boswellian scholarship, the collection was presented to the Library in 1998 by his widow. It consists of some 1500 volumes, for which records have now been added to SAULCAT. Dr Fleeman's manuscript papers are also held and have been added to a database available in the Reading Room.
