Further information about the journal hosting service
Investigation of OJS as software to provide a journal hosting service began in the Library in 2010 and started as a pilot project. The service is now staffed by members of the Repository services team within Academic Liasion. As of March 2012 we have 3 journals which are already being hosted, one nearing completion for going live and one title under discussion in startup mode. The journals represent both new titles, and transfers of existing print titles to electronic delivery, so have provided good case studies to inform future projects.

Related Repository services
The Journal Hosting Service is part of a set of services to provide research support in the areas of scholarly communication and open access. Other related services are Research@StAndrews:FullText which is the University's open access digital research repository. The repository provides access to the full text of University research outputs, and is closely linked to the University's Research Information System PURE which captures all research related activity. The Library also offers support on how to make your publications open access and how to comply with funder mandates on open access.
Repository services staff are delivering other examples of hosted publications through the Research@StAndrews:FullText platform. These include:
- A series of research monographs for the Centre for French History and Culture entitled St Andrews Studies in French History and Culture
- A Technical report series for the Centre for Research into Ecological & Environmental Modelling (CREEM)
- A project to provide full text content of Sustainable Development Commission reports in collaboration with the St Andrews Sustainability Institute (SASI)
- Some pilot digitised Special Collections content
