SAULCAT - St Andrews University Library Catalogue

Access to other libraries

Universities of Dundee and Abertay Dundee

A reciprocal agreement exists between the libraries of the 3 local universities (St Andrews, Dundee and Abertay)  which allows staff and students of these institutions to borrow certain material from any of these libraries free of charge.

St Andrews students and staff members need to produce their university ID cards in order to join at either of the other local universities.  Information on what you will be entitled to access is available from the Dundee University and Abertay websites respectively. Membership of Dundee University Library will give St Andrews students access to all 7 of the University’s site libraries.

Please note that as a student or member of staff from St Andrews, you will not normally be able to access the electronic resources or PC network of our neighbouring universities.

SCONUL Access

On 1 August 2007 the SCONUL Research Extra (SRX) and UK Libraries Plus schemes amalgamated to become the new SCONUL Access scheme.  This scheme, which involves over 170 academic libraries, provides access and borrowing rights to academic staff, postgraduates (full and part-time), distance learning, part-time undergraduates and placement students.  SCONUL Access also provides a reference only service for most undergraduates. For further details on how to register, download an application form and also details of participating libraries, visit the SCONUL Access website. Application forms are also available from the Reader Services Desk.
