What we do
"Lean is making a difference" - BI
At St Andrews we apply Lean in three ways:
- Project work
- Training
- One to one work
1) Project work
Projects currently underway include:
- Tuition fee payment process (Admissions/Finance/Registry)
- Event management (MUSA)
- Staff Induction process (CAPOD/HR/IT)
Staff in the University are able to access a detailed list of projects currently underway, including links to project plans and project photo albums here: Project Tracker: for Staff
2) Training
We are currently offering the following courses:
- Lean Thinking
- Lean Tools
- Lean Problem Solving
- Lean and Green
- Managing Change
- Introduction to Project Management
Booking (for staff and students at St Andrews) can be made via the: Personal Development Management System.
3) One to one work
- We work with management level staff in the University to support business transformation
- We work with staff at all levels of the University formally and informally to support them in continously solving problems to meet the goals of the University.
So, if you want to chat through an issue, or you have an idea (see our suggestions page) get in touch. We can't promise to be able to offer a solution, but we will take what you say seriously and do our best to find a way to always be improving.
What we're doing... on Twitter
People often ask us what we're up to, so for the past year or so we've been using Twitter to keep a record of what we're up to.
Follow us on @LeanUni, or check us out on http://twitter.com/leanuni
We thought it might be fun to make a word cloud of what we tweeted about for 2011... here's the top 50 words occurring in our tweets.
