We are currently in the process of building up the resources available to help users troubleshoot their own computer problems. The following resources are made available to allow users to help themselves with a number of software related problems. If you are unfamiliar with any of the procedures described here, particularly the knowledge base items, please seek help first. We can take no responsibility for damage or failure of equipment as a result of following any of the resources made available here.
Loan laptops
The PC Clinic currently has two loan laptops available for students to take on loan for periods of up to 7 days. These computers are primarily to provide cover when a student's machine is being worked in the PC Clinic, but we can also provide loans for up to 7 days where computers have been damaged, broken or lost. We are unable to provide these computers for general loan or for purposes other than students needing to meet academic deadlines. Students who have their machines in the PC Clinic have priority for these machines and all bookings must be done at the IT Service Desk by a member of IT Service Desk staff who refer to the PC Clinic support team.
