Connecting to the cable services

To connect to cable connection in your study bedroom you will first need to obtain the correct type of ethernet cable, these are Ethernet cables (or CAT5) which differ from modem cables supplied for slower telephone connections. 


Once you have this cable you can then follow instructions below;

1) Connect your cable to the socket and start your computer

2) Ensure your computer setup is obtain network addresses automatically (default)

3) Launch a preferred internet Browser (such as Mozilla Firefox)

4) Your browser will then be re-directed to the registration pages

5) Use your University username & password to login as directed

6) Proceed carefully through the on-screen instructions

7) Restart computer when requested


Once your computer has restarted you will be able to access a range of network services including email and the web.
