Apple iPhone 4
IT Services considers the Apple iPhone 4 to be useful as an enterprise level smartphone. As such, we can offer support for this device when used in conjunction with our current email, calendaring and wireless network services.
The iPhone 4 incorporates enterprise level security (WPA2) and data connectivity via 3G and wi-fi. Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync allows remote synchronisation of your University calendar, as well as "push" email delivery to the device. Enterprise level security also allows the iPhone to connect to the University's wireless network access points using an Eduroam login. While the iPhone also functions as an iPod, it is unlikely that this will be relevant to the way you work at the University. Therefore IT Services will not support these functions of the device at this time.
