Apple iPhone

iPhone 5

The iPhone 5 is the latest generation of the iPhone, and is the successor to thr iPhone 4S.  The iPhone 5 runs Apple's iOS6 operating system, the same operating system as now used on the iPad2 and the iPod Touch. It is primarily controlled by a user's fingertips on the multi-touch display, which is sensitive to fingertip contact.

The iPhone 5 is physically longer than the iPhone 4S, but slimmer and lighter.  The screen now allows a fifth row of icons.  The case is now predominantly aluminium rather than the glass used for the back of the iPhone 4/4S.  It uses the a new A6 dual core processor like the iPad third generation, it has an 8 mega-pixel camera and better optics, and better graphics handling than its predecessor.  It is also with 64Gb of memory for users who wish to carry large amounts of data with them.

The device is compatible with current University systems, including email, calendar and wireless connection to the University data network

iPhone 4S

The iPhone 4S smartphone is the fifth generation of the iPhone, and is the successor to the iPhone 4.  The iPhone 4S runs Apple's iOS5 operating system, the same operating system as now used on the iPad2 and the iPod Touch. It is primarily controlled by a user's fingertips on the multi-touch display, which is sensitive to fingertip contact.

While similar in appearance to its immediate predecessor the iPhone 4, internally the iPhone 4S is very different.  It now uses the same A5 dual core processor as the iPad2, it has an 8 mega-pixel camera and better optics, and better graphics handling than its predecessor.  It is also available with 64Gb of memory for users who wish to carry large amounts of data with them (or have an extensive iTunes library).

The device is compatible with current University systems, including email, calendar and wireless connection to the University data network

iPhone 4

The iPhone 4 smartphone is the fourth generation of the iPhone, and is the successor to the iPhone 3GS.  The iPhone 4 now runs Apple's iOS5 operating system, the same operating system as used on the iPad2 and the iPod Touch. It is primarily controlled by a user's fingertips on the multi-touch display, which is sensitive to fingertip contact.

The most noticeable difference between the iPhone 4 and its predecessors is the new design, which incorporates an uninsulated stainless steel frame that acts as the device's antenna. The internal components of the device are situated between two panels of chemically strengthened aluminosilicate glass. It has an Apple A4 processor and 512 MB of eDRAM, twice that of its predecessor, and four times that of the original iPhone. It has a 3.5 inches (89 mm) LED backlit liquid crystal display with a 960-by-640 pixel resolution.

The device is compatible with current University systems, including email, calendar and wireless connection to the University data network
