Configuring Safari to accept certificates

This page refers to Safari on the Macintosh only.

A file called cacert.crt will be downloaded to your desktop. Double click this file to start the certificate installation. A dialog box will open:

Select the X509Anchors Keychain in the drop-down list then click the View Certificates button to check it's authenticity. A new dialog box will open:

Click Details to expand the certificate then scroll to the bottom of the list to display the fingerprints.

Ensure that the version of the certificate being installed on your computer has the same SHA1 fingerprint as set out below. The SHA1 fingerprint is a sequence of characters which uniquely identifies the certificate as being genuine:

46 5E 7C C3 06 4C 55 76 F3 B3 7B 4E 5A 1E A5 F4 3A C6 0A C2

If all seems to be in order click OK to return to the first dialog box then click OK to install the certificate.
