Configuring Internet Explorer to accept certificates
Configuring Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or 7 for PC
Please note that the current version of Microsoft Internet Explorer available for use on a Macintosh computer (version 5.2) is incompatible with the St Andrews University certificate. If you use a Mac please use Netscape or Safari instead.
When you click on the link above you will be presented with the dialog box shown below. Select Open to run the installation file without saving it first to your PC.
You will now see the Certificate dialog box, with three tabs visible. The contents of the General tab are on view.
Read the contents and then click the Details tab
Acquaint yourself with the details then select the Certification Path tab
Select the General tab again and click Install Certificate... A wizard will start to guide you through the installation process.
Click Next
Accept the default settings and click Next
Click Finish to continue installing the certificate.
A security warning will be presented to you. Ensure that the sha1 thumbprint is the same as displayed above. When you are satisfied that all is in order select Yes to install the certificate
Click OK to acknowledge that the installation was successful.
