ResNet Changing Hall or Hardware

Please note that all the procedures below should be done on your own computer in your own room in hall. These instructions assume that you have already been through the process of registering your computer in hall.

Changing Hall

Staff and Students who are moving residences should ensure that their contract details with Residential and Business Services has been updated in the first instance. When signing onto the system in your new residence, you should complete the steps as if you are a new user. Once signed into the system you will first need to delete your connection registration referring to your previous residence. You may then have to wait up to 24 hours before you can register your computer again in the new hall of residence.

Changing Hardware

If you change your computer you will need to update your details on our registration system before you can get on-line with the new computer. This also refers to laptops where motherboards have been replaced and LAN cards swapped. When signing onto the system using your new computer/equipment, you will be directed to the registration system as if you are registering for the first time. Once signed into the system you will first need to delete your connection registration referring to your previous computer/equipment. You may then have to wait up to 24 hours before you can register your computer within the system.
