Description: Supports academic staff who are at the planning stage of a research project that involves an ICT component
- alerting academics to arising funding opportunities of relevance to ICT
- structuring ICT-related bids
- project design and planning for ICT-related projects
- technical contribution to applications for research funding (e.g. assistance with writing the Technical Appendix)
- advice on project management, technical standards, sustainability and archiving

Description: Supports academic staff with aspects of technical implementation of research projects

Description: Supports academic staff with technical aspects of electronic resources after the end of research projects

5. Hosting
Description: Supports academic staff who are involved in electronic resource creation projects
- Provision of a dedicated hosting service for electronic resources

6. Electronic archiving
Description: Supports academic staff who have created electronic research outcomes that need to be accessible in the long term
- Provision of an electronic archive that conforms to the Open Archival Information System (OAIS, ISO 14721:2003) standard
- Assistance with ingest into the archive
- Preservation planning and life cycle management of research data

7. Electronic research skills development
Description: Support for academic staff and PhD students to develop ICT-related research skills
- training at project-level to assist various resource creation processes
- organisation of workshops on different aspects of using ICT for research and teaching
- opportunities to work with local academic computing projects to gain work experience and acquire skills

8. Image Database
Description: Support for staff and PhD students who need to create and manage digital image collections
- provision and maintenance of a central image database that allows for the setup of various image collections and provides different levels of access restriction at collection level
- advice on metadata creation
- response to developing demands from academics relating to the support of digital image collections
