How we work
Much of IT Services' work is undertaken as individual projects: finding and implementing a solution to a customer's problem. Led by one of our project managers, we work in partnership with the customer and other stakeholders to solve the problem.
ITS is continually working to improve the way that projects are managed, to make best use of your, and our, limited resources, and to ensure that projects are completed on time, and within budget. All project managers are PRINCE2 trained, and our projects are run using a combination of PRINCE2 and Agile methodologies. For more information about PRINCE2, see the APMG-International website.
The implications for projects are that they should be:
- Continually justified by their business case
- Managed and run in stages, with clear and identified milestones
- Projects will have a project board to oversee the project
- Projects will have a named project manager, who will be your immediate point of contact on your project
- There is a process in place to manage risks
- Project budgets are clearly defined and monitored
- If risks, budgets, or any of the other tolerances of a project are likely to be breached, then actions are raised with the project board to manage these successfully
