Thesis topic
Working title: 'Seeing the Divine: A Christian Hindu Theology of Visual Art', under the supervision of Trevor Hart.

Emily is introducing Eastern creativity and the sanctification of ‘seeing’ in the process of Darshan to Christian theologies of Beauty and creativity. She intends to explore the Hindu Upanishadic conclusion of the ultimate unity between the Supreme Being and the Atman (Self) alongside Christian understandings of the Divine/human relationship. She will continue by looking at the role of the creative process in the embodiment of Divine beauty and art as a vehicle of communication between the Divine and the Disciple. The intention of this dialogue is to reveal unique and challenging perspectives on the creative process without jeopardising faith integrity.

Other information
Emily likes books and painting (both about and inspired by God) as well as shoes and Shiva.
