Marking scales and degree classification

The School and University operate a 20 point-marking scale (1-20).

The first and second year (1000 and 2000 module levels) are marked to different qualitative criteria from the Honours assessment (3000 and 4000). This reflects the different levels of attainment that can be reasonably expected at these two stages. The scale operated at Honours determines final degree classifications, ( 1st, Upper-Second etc.).
