Journal of International Political Theory
The Journal of International Political Theory is an exciting new scholarly publication devoted to the study and analysis of international political thought (IPT).
In recent years there has been a substantial growth of interest in international political theory, as the international dimensions of contemporary life have driven political inquiry beyond its traditional boundaries. The main purpose of the Journal of International Political Theory is to promote research reflecting the breadth of interests and traditions within international political theory, from historical, analytical, comparative and normative perspectives. The journal provides a peer-reviewed forum for creative and critical work in the field and offers a unique opportunity for scholars to keep abreast of research pertaining to international political theory.
The Journal is released twice a year (April and October) and the first issue was published in April 2008 by Edinburgh University Press.
In July 2010, the Journal hosted Thinking (With)Out Borders 2: The St Andrews International Political Theory Conference, a follow-up to the June 2008 conference, Thinking (With)Out Borders: International Political Theory in the 21st Century. Both conferences were dedicated to scholars within the interdisciplinary field of IPT to discuss the past, present and future questions and challenges of this burgeoning area of study. Each conference attracted more than 100 participants from around the world, including the distinguished keynote speakers Seyla Benhabib (2008) and Fred Dallmayr (2010). Further information on the 2010 conference, including programme details, are available on the Journal website.
