M.Phil in International Relations
The M.Phil is normally studied over two years full-time, although it is possible to take the degree over up to 4 years on a part-time basis.The first 9 months of study comprise the taught components of an M.Litt (four modules of 30 credits each). In addition, students take the module IR5601 "Research Methods in International Relations" which is intended to help them develop their research skills. A thesis of not more than 40,000 words is submitted at the end of the second year. An oral examination (viva voce) is normally required.
