Teaching and Research Interests

Main teaching interest is Scottish history from 1707 to the 1990s. Honours teaching concentrates on the economic and social history of Scotland, with special reference to development of class and class relations, and also the history of women. Current research interests lie in examining the impact of US direct inward investment on the Scottish economy and society in the period 1945 to 1970, and the struggle of women in Scotland for equality with men.
