As part of the Scotland and the Wider World Researchers' Night, staff and students involved with the project will be pleased to give a series of presentations on the Scotland, Scandinavia and Northern European Biographical Database (SSNE). Beginning at 3pm and on the hour thereafter, there will be a series of brief (5-10 minute) presentations demonstrating some of the information this resource holds. The topics covered will include workshops on:

• An Introduction to the SSNE (Steve Murdoch) at 3pm

• Past the Perimeters: Scotland and the Rest of the  World in the SSNE Database (Claire McLoughlin) at 4pm

• A Soldier’s Tale: Sir George Fleetwood and his Regiment (Adam Marks) at 5pm

• Pedlars and Merchants (Hector Laing) at 6pm

After each presentation, the public will be invited and helped to conduct their own research using the database with assistance from the project staff as required.
