Róisín Watson

In 2010 Róisín obtained her M.St. in Modern British and European History from the University of Oxford, where she also completed her undergraduate degree.  Here she focused on the Nuremberg Abbess Caritas Pirckheimer and her association with the humanist networks in the city.  She then spent a year at the Stiftung Maximilianeum and Ludwig Maximilian Universität in Munich as a visiting scholar.  Now at St. Andrews, her PhD research explores Sixteenth and Seventeenth Century German religious and gender history.  She focuses on networks of female art patronage in the duchy of Württemberg and the impact of the Reformation, with a particular interest in female spirituality among Protestants.
