Student Support and Guidance

Student Support is available to provide advice, assistance and support in all areas of your life which may affect your academic studies. You can seek information and advice on a wide range of issues including immigration, disability services, study related problems, mental health support and student finances. The main reception area of Student Support is the Advice and Support Centre, at 79 North Street (Old Union Reception). You are encouraged to come in when any issue or difficulty arises and it is very easy to access its services – simply email, call or drop in and you will be able to speak to someone as soon as possible.

You may wish to obtain advice and guidance from within your School in the first instance. The School office will normally identify the most appropriate person to speak to you. For disabilities-related matters, students can contact Dr Kostas Zafeiris, the School of History's Disabilities Co-Ordinator (asohist@st-andrews.ac.uk).

Students who wish to use recording devices (such as dictaphones or recorders on a laptop) should read carefully the following guidelines. Guidelines on the use of recording devices in lectures, tutorials or seminars.

Please be assured that personal matters will be dealt with confidentially and information will only be passed on to other members of staff in accordance with the University Student Confidentiality Policy:-
