The School of History routinely provides students with feedback on their exam performance in order to help them to improve their exam technique from diet to exam diet.
For the exam feedback each semester, the following applies:
(1) For semester 1 exams, feedback will be available by the end of week 3 of the second semester. Students will receive an email inviting them to collect free of charge copies of their examination comment sheets (though NOT of the actual examination scripts) from the relevant School Office.
(2) For semester 2 exams, feedback will be available by Graduation week. Students will receive an email inviting them to collect free of charge copies of their examination comment sheets (though NOT of the actual examination scripts) from the relevant School Office. Stamped-addressed envelopes can be handed in to the school offices prior to students departure if they are unable to collect feedback in person.
(3) Students are also invited to make a subsequent appointment to re-read their exam scripts in the light of the examiners' comments. To do this, students should email the relevant secretary:
and make an appointment. Students can then read their scripts in relevant School Office.
(4) If students desire further feedback on exam performance, they are welcome to make an appointment with their tutor.
(5) Students are entitled to request a copy of any of their own completed examination scripts. If a photocopy of the script is required for personal reference, please contact the chair of your degree programme (History, Mediaeval History, Middle Eastern Studies, Modern History) or the director of your postgraduate programme and on payment of a fee of £10 per examination script a photocopy will be provided to the student within 5 working days. Such requests should be made by the end of week 3 of the Semester that follows the examination diet.
