In 2008-9 the School of History plans to acknowledge the outstanding achievement of any student who gains a grade of 16.5 or above as the final mark in any of the subhonours modules taught within the School (AR1001, AR1002, AR2001, AR2002, ME1001, ME1004, ME2001, ME2004, MO1005, MO1006, MO2007, MO2006, MO2901, SC2003, SC2004, SC2901).
The award will be made in the form of a book prize. One book will be offered for each distinction grade.
The book itself will be selected from an extensive list of suggestions made by members of staff in the School and will be recommended reading for at least one of their undergraduate courses. Prize-winners will be able to select freely from this list.
The prize will be selected over the summer and the book will be available for collection at the beginning of the new academic year.
Any prize-winner who so wishes may have a bookplate added to the book.
