Absence from Examinations

Absence from Examinations due to illness or any other unavoidable reason should be reported IMMEDIATELY, or as soon as you know you will be unable to sit an examination, to the University Examinations Office by telephone (01334 46) 2122/2124, and to the School Office of your degree. This should then be followed up by completion of a Self Certificate of Absence form (through e-Vision).

As soon as you are well enough you should contact Examinations Officer of the School of History (Dr Kostas Zafeiris - kz1@st-andrews.ac.uk) to request a deferred assessment to be completed at the earliest opportunity. The decision to grant deferred exams (or, very rarely, alternative assessment) is normally taken by the Special Circumstances Board of the School, which convenes following the end of the Exam Diet.
