Training sessions
The University web team is responsible for organising and running the following training sessions.
We ask all TerminalFour (T4) Site Manager users to complete two sessions: the introduction to T4 and the writing for the web training sessions.
Details about when courses are and how to book can be found on the Personal Development Management System (PDMS).
TerminalFour Site Manager

This session will give an overview of Terminalfour Site Manager and how to add and edit content. It is intended for those who have not used Site Manager before, or for those who would like a refresher.
2. TerminalFour (T4) Site Manager - intermediate
This session is for those who are already familiar with Site Manager and who use it regularly. It is intended to be a more advanced training session covering topics such as images, related content and basic HTML.
Writing for the Web
3. Writing for the web using TerminalFour Site Manager
This is a required session for all prospective T4 users. Book now
When writing for the web your content needs to be concise and scannable. Users find it harder to read from a screen than from paper, so special techniques are required to ensure that your message gets across on the web.
We need to write our content in such a way that we help users find the information they are looking for as quickly as possible.
This short course will help you understand:
- Why the web is different.
- The importance of structured content.
- How to write for the web.
- How to easily maintain and revise content.
The session is open to all staff, but priority will be given to T4 users.
HTML, CSS and JavaScript
A number of people have asked us to provide training in various web technologies such as
- HTML (HyperText Mark-up Language)
- CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)
- JavaScript and jQuery
Unfortunately we don't have the time or resources to offer this kind of training at the moment. However, do check out the following resources:
