Using FEEA as an external client
FEEA welcomes commercial and other non-academic organisations to access its facilities. There are various modes of access:
Contract research
- FEEA staff can undertake routine analysis or research on a contract basis. Examples of such contracts include chemical analyses, luminescence dating, and geophysical surveying
Hands-on access
- External users can be given hands-on access to FEEA labs and equipment. Visiting academics and research postgraduates should first contact an appropriate member of staff or contact FEEA to discuss arrangements and likely costs.
Consultation
- FEEA staff have been engaged in solving problems for industry for more than 20 years, particularly in materials analysis.
Quotes
An indication of the scale of costs likely to be involved in contract research can be quickly provided by members of FEEA while detailed contracts are arranged through the University’s Knowledge Transfer Centre. VAT is chargeable on commercial contracts.
