Heinrich Events: Land, Ice and Ocean

Dr William Austin (Reader in Physical Geography) is to give the opening keynote lecture at a meeting on Heinrich Events at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton in June 2012.
Heinrich Events were intervals of major ice sheet collapse; they are particularly prominent in the glacial record of the North Atlantic Ocean and are known to have perturbed the global climate system.
