Dr Kim McKee was interviewed by Inside Housing about her recent research on Housing Associations and the Big Society, which focused on the role of community-controlled housing associations as anchor organisations.
Funded by the Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland the research highlighted the social role of housing associations, and their ability to act as catalysts for community development and regeneration. Yet it also underlined constraints in fulfilling their potential in terms of institutional and financial support, and the role of regulation. A copy of the research findings can be accessed here, whilst a copy of the article can be found on the Inside Housing website.
