Congratulations to Laura Obermuller, a PhD student in the Department of Geography and Sustainable Development, who has won the the Dudley Stamp Memorial Award and The Slawson Award for 2012.
The Dudley Stamp Memorial Award (£500) provides for travel costs in PhD research that leads to the advancement of geography and to international co-operation in the study of the subject. The Slawson Award (£1250) is also towards travel in the field.
The awards, which have been given since 2001, support geographical fieldwork involving development issues with a high social and economic value.
