How to apply for graduation
Ceremony and Graduation Garden Part tickets
The capacity of the graduation hall is constrained by fire regulations but, if you choose to graduate in person, you are guaranteed up to a maximum of two seats for your guests (your own ticket will be issued to you on the day of the ceremony).
If you are expected to be eligible to graduate in June 2013, you will receive an email to your St Andrews email account in March with details on applying to graduate. If you have not received the email to your University email account by 29 March 2013 please contact Graduation.
The deadline for applying to graduate is Friday 10 May 2013 at 5.00 pm.
Additional tickets
Additional tickets may become available after the graduation application closing date of Friday 10 May 2013. Should you wish to request extra tickets, please email Graduation as soon as possible in order that your name can be added to the ballot for extra tickets.
Any requests received for additional tickets before you receive the email in March will not be considered.
When requesting extra ticekts, please provide the following information:
- Student ID (Matriculation) Number
- Full Name
- A maximum of TWO additional tickets may be requested, please indicate if you wish one to two additional tickets
- Please indicate which graduation ceremony (e.g. Tuesday 25 June at 10.30 am or 2.00 pm)
- If any special requirements are needed: (i.e. wheelchair access or ground floor seating)
An email indicating the number of additional tickets that you have allocated in the ballot will be sent by 7 June 2013. Please note there is no charge for additional tickets.
Collecting tickets
All guest tickets and graduation garden party tickets, including any extra guest tickets that you may have been successful in applying for, will be available for collection from the Buchanan Lecture Theatre, Ground Floor, Buchanan Building, Union Street, St Andrews, Fife KY16 9PH (see Graduation Map November 2012 (PDF, 89 KB) ) on:
