Dr. Alex Marlow-Mann contributed the chapter on Italy for the book The International Film Musical, which is out now from Edinburgh University Press (ed. Corey Creekmur and Linda Mokdad). His contribution is the first English language study of Italian musicals.

David Martin-Jones has published a co-edited collection, Deleuze and Film, with Edinburgh University Press.

Local exhibition on cinema history.

The Centre for Film Studies' Cinema St Andrews Project has been collaborating with the St Andrews Preservation Trust Museum on an exhibition on local cinema history, entitled Lights, Camera, Action. The exhibition will be open daily from 2-5pm at the Museum, which is at 12 North Street. It runs from Saturday 7 April until 22 April.

Dina Iordanova writes introduction to Criterion release of Letter Never Sent

The Criterion Collection (New York) have just released the first English-language DVD edition of Mikhail Kalatozov's 1960 classic Letter Never Sent (Neotpravlennoe pismo), with a booklet-introduction by Dina Iordanova.

Postgraduates receive £1400 GRADSkills grant for film curation

Pasquale Cicchetti, Raluca Iacob and Beatriz Tadeo Fuica have been jointly awarded a £1400 GRADSkills grant. The money is intended to support an innovative new project which will see each of them curate a short film season centred on their research interests at the Byre Theatre in the autumn.

Joshua Yumibe receives Leverhulme Trust Grant

Joshua Yumibe has been awarded a £250,000 Leverhulme Trust Research Project Grant for the project 'Colour in the 1920s: Cinema and Its Intermedial Contexts'. He is Co-Investigator with Sarah Street (University of Bristol). Congratulations!
