Faculty Update: Prof. Dina Iordanova receives award from Caledonian Research Foundation and RSE

Dina Iordanova has been awarded an European Visiting Research Fellowship by the Caledonian Research Foundation and the Royal Society of Edinburgh for her project on French Film Festivals. The award will allow her to spend several months in Paris and travel to other areas of France to visit several French film festivals in 2008.

Postgraduate Student Update: Yun-hua Chen and 'Stargazing' premier in Edinburgh

We are pleased to announce the screening of the short film 'Stargazing', directed by Maria Svoronou and written by Alan Mountford , taking place in Edinburgh on Thursday, 13 December. Film Studies postgrad, Yun-hua Chen contributed to the production, a story about two twelve-year old boys who sneak out to study the stars on a night that will change their lives forever. The film will screen at The Filmhouse Cinema on 88 Lothian Road.

Launch of The Cinema Book, 3rd Edition (ed. Pam Cook) with contributions from Prof. Dina Iordanova

The launch of the new, third edition of Cinema Book (ed. Pam Cook), took place on November 22 at the Film Store, part of the newly refurbished complex adjacent to the National Film Theatre on BFI's South Bank in London. The new edition features more than fifty new entries, including Dina Iordanova's contribution on Transnational Film Studies in the part highlighting Developments in Theory.
