CFS Talk: Sean Cubitt, Eco-criticism and Media Technologies

Thus far eco-critique has been largely textual and to some extent generic but the ambition of eco-criticism needs to be much broader and deeper. This talk will argue that the history of mediations between population and environment is intrinsic to the forms of media we are confronted with today. The talk will use Source Code (Duncan Jones, 2011) as a platform from which to launch a discussion of the new configurations, and to help as a guide in a green analysis of mediation in the 21st century.
