But it did thanks to a new print and a revival in the United States. This classic of world cinema now comes to St Andrews for a special screening. LEVERHULME LECTURE at the Centre for Film Studies: On the Plurality of Cinematic Transnationalism

Mette Hjort, Leverhulme Visiting Professor of Film Studies at St Andrews in Scotland and Professor of Visual Studies at Lingnan University in Hong Kong, provides a detailed typology of cinematic transnationalism in order to investigate, clarify and challenge our knowledge of this popular new concept in film studies. We will also celebrate the launch of her new co-edited collection, The Cinema of Small Nations (Edinburgh University Press). Wine will be provided.
