We wish to appoint to a new chair of medicine named in honour of our Nobel Laureate alumnus Sir James Black FRS. We seek candidates who will give strong research leadership most likely in the areas of infection and immunity to promote the significant translational research opportunities at St Andrews.
The new £45m medical school at St Andrews will open in February 2010 providing state of the art teaching and research facilities. Medical students at St Andrews all pursue our honours BSc in medicine followed by further clinical training at Manchester, Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh or Glasgow. We also have postgraduate Masters, PhD and MD programmes.
