Introductory TEFL course
The TEFL introductory course is a 3-day course available for anyone who intends to take an integrated year abroad as part of their studies and who will be working as language assistants within an English language teaching setting, or for anyone who has thought about getting a higher level TEFL qualification and wants to know more about the profession.
The next course will be held Saturday 24 - Monday 26 March 2012 (20 hours of teaching).
ILA Funding for TEFL
ILA Scotland (Individual Learning Accounts) is a scheme funded by the Scottish Government to help people gain access to further training.
If you are considering using your allowance for a TEFL course, it is advisable to get an account set up as soon as possible as the ILA cannot provide funding after the start date of the course.
Even if you are unsure what you might use your allowance for, it is a good idea to apply for it now. Provided you are over 16, are resident in Scotland, and earn less than £22, 000 a year, you could get £200 towards the cost of doing either of our TEFL training courses. The money is not a loan so you do not have to pay it back. Once the account is set up, your course can be financed with ease.
For more information about how to do this, please see the ILA Scotland website.
