What our students say
Katharine
MA Hons Philosophy & Theological Studies, graduated 2005.
Currently Researcher, BBC Religion & Ethics
Making documentaries for the BBC is my dream job. Whether I am discussing a revolutionary new theory or developing programme ideas, the skills I gained during my degree are invaluable. St Mary's is an extraordinary place to study. The fascinating subjects offered, and the expertise of the staff combine to make the great sense of community that will remain with me forever. Getting involved with college activities allowed me to build a strong network of friends with whom to share ideas, study notes and cups of tea. I shall always treasure the memories of the time I spent at St Mary's and use the knowledge I gained in, what I hope will be, a flourishing career in television.
Jonathan
MTheol, graduated 2008
I can safely say that I did well choosing the MTheol degree. There are plenty of interesting modules to choose from, and real flexibility alongside the compulsory classes. I have been able to concentrate on languages as well as taking modules which focus on more international and current issues. The teaching staff, librarians and everyone in the office are all really accommodating.
Naomi
MA Biblical Studies, graduated 2005
The more I learn about God, the more I know I don't know. Yet it can be fun trying! I've found Biblical Studies at St Andrews to be rewarding both intellectually and spiritually. The Bible is so readable and relevant, and St Andrews is such a beautiful place in which to study. I feel privileged!
Maria

Choosing to study at St Mary's College was one of the best decisions I've made. I immediately felt comfortable here, and the MA in Theological Studies combines academic excellence with a real sense of community. You never feel like just another student or a number. Plus, I feel really confident that a degree from St Andrews will stand me in good stead for whichever career I choose in the future.

The wide range of modules on offer in St Mary's makes for a really diverse degree. Everything from Ethics to the Buddhist tradition to New Testament history is available so you're never studying one set thing. Its also a really accessible department, the staff are approachable ... a great atmosphere all round.
