Ordinands

St Mary's College welcomes applications from those considering ordination in any Christian church. It is one of the officially recognized and approved colleges for the training of Church of Scotland ministers and in the recent past our students have also included those preparing for ordination in the Church of England, the Church of Ireland ,the Scottish Episcopal Church, the Baptist Church, the Roman Catholic Church and the United Free Church of Scotland.

Study at St Mary's offers several special benefits for those considering ordination. There is the presence of other students with similar vocations, a particularly rich mix of local churches and especially strong links with the main parish church in St Andrews where there are opportunities for involvement in worship leadership, youth work and pastoral care and a strong range of practical theology courses tailored to candidates for ministry, including modules on pastoral care, worship and preaching.

Rev Dr Ian Bradley, our Churches Liaison Officer, has special responsibility for Church of Scotland candidates and is always pleased to see those destined for or considering ministry in other churches.
