The School of Divinity has a well-established distance learning programme.

Connecting biblical and theological studies with other disciplines in the arts, humanities and social sciences is at the heart of our 'Bible and the Contemporary World' programme. Through part-time study, largely via the Internet, you join with others from across the world in relating the Christian tradition to a host of aspects of life. From guided reading, lectures and online discussions you gain an understanding of how culture shapes, and has been shaped by, Christian belief, practice and theology. You become critically aware of disputes, how these are addressed in scholarly literature, and learn how to develop your own judgements on matters of serious common concern.

Three options for part-time study are available with entry each August/September or January.

M.Litt. (Master of Letters)

Three taught modules + dissertation. Two years of study.

Postgraduate Diploma

Three taught modules.  Eighteen months of study.

Individual Module

Registration for single modules also available.

Please see our new website where you will find information about the course structure, modules, fees, and how to apply:  Bible and the Contemporary World distance learning

The M.Litt is a UK postgraduate Masters degree; in North America and some other parts of the world this would be known as a 'graduate' degree.

Applications are currently open for entry in January 2017 (closing date 1 November 2016) and for September 2017 (closing date 16 June 2017).  These are considered upon receipt of all your paperwork in order that we might give you a prompt decision. APPLY HERE
