How to Apply for 2013 Entry

The Burnwynd Crest

Application letters are to be sent to the Director of Operations by 15 March each year. Applicants are to:

  • Read the Regulations.
  • Devise a project.
  • Discuss your project with the appropriate School.
  • Obtain a letter of support.
  • In the case of the Catherine and Alfred Forrest Trust, select a university or centre of education outside the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland. Obtain a letter of agreement from the institution.
  • In the case of the St Andrews Local History Foundation, discuss your project with the Professor of Scottish History (ram@st-andrews.ac.uk) and the Keeper of Manuscripts and Muniments (nhr1@st-andrews.ac.uk) at the University of St Andrews.
  • Draft your application in accordance with the regulations. If in doubt, take advice from the appropriate School or the Director of Operations.
  • Submit your application to the Director of Operations by 15 March 2013. The address is:
