CRIEFF: Research Networks and Workshops
CRIEFF
has at various points been host to research networks and/or research workshops.
This is a periodic activity that is regarded as part and parcel of the mission
of CRIEFF.
Networks
Three
examples of such networks run from CRIEFF are: the Network of Industrial
Economics (NIE) (1998-2001) and the
Seminars in Accounting, Finance and Economics (SAFE) (2006-2008),
both of which were ESRC sponsored; and the Research Forum, Scottish Institute
for Enterprise (SIE) (2002-03).
Workshops
Two
examples of such workshops were: the one on Bayesian methods in econometrics (Bayesian Evaluation,
Estimation and Implementation of Dynamic Models, CRIEFF, 16-20 June 1997),
which was an intensive course; and the other, the Finance Research Group (FRG)
(2007-08) which was a series of presentations, mixing advanced ‘tools and
techniques’ with ‘practitioner insights’ from financial analysts and investors.

CRIEFF
is open to suggestions as to what are likely to be relevant, synergistic and
timely activities of this sort. As the above suggests, the forms they may take
can be diverse. The Director should be contacted in the first instance with any
proposals of this nature.
