Out of hours
Contact information after working hours and at weekends or holidays
All calls made to the University during the following times will be forwarded to an out-of-hours janitor:
- Monday to Friday, 5.30pm - 8.30am
- Weekends
- University-recognised holidays
It is stressed that this is an emergency service and should not be used for calls of a routine nature.
Internal callers
Internal callers dialling 0 (zero) will access a voicemail message giving detailed instructions on how to connect to out-of-hours janitor.
For callers dialling from within the University faced with a serious incident or threat
- Telephone the Emergency Services by dialling: (9)999 from any University telephone.
- Give full details of incident and location, who you are and where you can be contacted.
External callers
Callers dialling from without the University will listen to a voicemail message and will be automatically transferred to the out-of-hours advisor should they wish to speak to someone.
What happens next
There may be a slight delay in connection so it is important that callers to the main switchboard number (01334 476161) do not hang up.
If the delay seems excessive, however, please re-dial. The out-of-hours janitor cannot transfer calls to other extensions.
The duty staff will take details of any incident and will then contact the appropriate agency.
