Research Interests

I work on Greek and Roman philosophy. My current projects include Platonic dialectic, political philosophy and the response to Plato in Hellenistic philosophy. I am preparing a monograph on self-sufficiency in Plato’s dialogues and a collection of articles on Plato and Stoicism. I have also translated Plato’s Meno and Phaedo for Cambridge Texts in the History of Philosophy
