Professor Mendus is formerly Director of the Morrell Centre for the Study of Toleration,
and is currently Vice President (Social Sciences) of the British Academy.

Susan Mendus's publications include Feminism and Emotion (Routledge, 2000);
Impartiality in Moral and Political Philosophy (OUP, 2002), and Religious Toleration
in an Age of Terrorism
(2007); etc.

In addition to the public lecture itself Professor Mendus will give two seminars:
