Student Voluntary Service (SVS)
A student run committee based in the Students Association, they have a range of projects aimed at giving students the opportunity to volunteer in the community. If you would like to do something different to the projects listed we can help you find that too, just e-mail svs@. Visit [1] for more information.

- Children with special needs
- Adults with special needs
- Children
- Elderly
- Environment
SVS also promote one-off projects for those who would like a less regular committment or would like to try something different. Visit [3] for more information.
Projects include assissting children with horse riding, gardening on the permaculture patch, and socialising with adults at Enable to name a few.

Your volunteering can count towards your MV award. A nationally recognised certificate for 50, 100, and 200 hours of volunteering.
A survey carried out by TimeBank through Reed Executive showed that among 200 of the UK’s leading businesses:
- 94% of employers believe that volunteering can add to skills
- 94% of employees who volunteered to learn new skills had benefited either by getting their first job, improving their salary, or being promoted.
Milennium Volunteers Award (MV)

You may already be volunteering, so why not record the hours for your certificate. Are you on a committee? You are a volunteer and could get MV award for your time spent on committee work.
