Internships in the USA
Students who apply for internships in the USA may find that employers ask for university recognition of their internship experience. The employer often requests academic credit recognition which the university cannot offer for assessment reasons. However, in practice, such employer's requirements can be met by informing them that a written report on the internship experience will gain points towards the Certificate in Career Development (CCD) offered by the Careers Centre. If the employer requires individualised confirmation from the university for this purpose their enquiry should be directed to Mr Paul Brown, Director of the Careers Centre, pfb1@st-andrews.ac.uk.
