Five steps to work out what careers might suit you:
1. Work out which careers might be right for you: there are questionnaires and tests to help you find out about your job preferences. We recommend trying the following:

- Prospects Planner

3. Research careers which interest you in more depth to see if they're right for you:
- Use I want to work in and Explore types of jobs to find out more about popular careers and get specific information on finding work experience and graduate jobs in each career area.
- Read job and employer reviews on Targetjobs Employer Insights, The Job Crowd and Inside Buzz.
4. Get networking: it is now a vital skill in the job-hunting process.
- Use your contacts eg family, friends or friends of friends and ask them about their jobs. If they sound interesting, ask to work shadow them.
- Contact St Andrews graduates working in careers that interest you via the Careers Alumni Network. Get their advice and tips on how to get into the sector.
- Use the Networking video and Networking page to brush up your technique and build your confidence.
